Doctor ?, Pregnant 5 Mos But Neg Blood Test? Posted: 01-18-06 00:33am
Ok. So here is my situation. I am 25 and
I believe that I am pregnant. But, I just
got my blood test results from a week and
half ago from county(i have no insurance
as of yet) but it came back negative.
I do not understand this and am confused
and feel lost. If I counted it out right
I am 5 mos(20 weeks today). The reason I
feel that I am pregnant is my ever growing
belly and breasts. And most important the
movement I am feeling in my belly. It is
continuingly getting stronger and days the
days go by. I feel what feels like kicks
every now and then, and tickles from the
inside. When I rub my tummy, I feel what
feel like a baby moving inside me.
Sometimes it is quite active. When I lay
on my back on the couch and rest my hands
on my belly I feel the movements, the
rolling, the what feels like little feet
kicking my hands back if I poke my tummy
or rub, sometimes even what feels like a
fingertip running its little hand around
to feel. If I feel gently around my belly
I can feel a form to what feels like a
baby.
Has this happned to anyone before?
Negative blood tests at almost 5 mos when
the blood test was taken? They did
schedule me for an ultrasound next tues,
but my family seems to think im crazy.
They can obviously see that my body has
changed. This is so hard and I feel
alone. They do not believe me because I
was raped. They dont even believe me that
I was raped. The people at the county
clinic arent even taking me searious. And
I feel alone in this with my family. I do
have freinds that are supportive, but its
my family that hurts the most with no
support. Please advise me. I know in my
heart that I am. The ones in my family
keep telling me its and infection, but I
just had blood work done and I dont have
an infection. How many times has this
happned before with negative blood tests
this far along? A freind said maybe
because I am overweight? Im sorry this so
long of a post, but if the doctor or
anyone has any advise for me please do.

A lot of times, if you have an abdominal
pregnancy, hcg will not show up on a hpt
or even a blood test. It's good that they
have you set up for an u/s. It's the same
way with ectopic pregnancies. But if you
are actually 5 months pregnant, i'm sure a
tube would've burst by now.
I'm not saying you aren't pregnant, but
there are a lot of other things it could
be causing you to look like you're
pregnant or even feel moving inside of
you, like tumors.
Have you missed any of your periods?

An abdominal pregnancy does not
have to be in the tube. It is more
common to be in the tube though.
It sure does sound just like my
pregnancy--and I am pregnant in the
abdomen. Not in the tube. I am 29.4
weeks pregnant.

My last period was in end of aug early
sept. I had spotting in sept and some
mild bleeding but that was it.
Thank you for replying. Over this past
month ive looked into so many different
things that it could be. But looking back
over the past months if I am like I think,
then it would make sense. I have had 2
m/cs in the past, never made it past 3
mos. So, despite my situation there is a
part of me hopeful, but not. If that
makes sense? I just find it hard to
believe that the movements I am feeling
are something other than a baby. Though
im not saying it isnt possible. Part of
me just want to the er and tell them my
belly is enlarged and feel movement and
have been sick to see if they would give
me and u/s to go ahead and clear my mind.
But the more rational part of me says that
I have waited this long, I can wait one
more week.
Its just really hard not knowing for sure
except what I feel you know? And im so
exsausted all the time these past few
weeks. This is alot to carry around on my
emotional back. :(

I still have yet to have my pregnancy
confirmed--i do not pass the .H.C.G
either.
But I know I am--and have for 6 1/2
months. I know I am. I had been preg 9
times in my younger years--so I know
pregnancy. I am now 44 years old--and
.God promised me 18 years ago I would have
miracle baby.
So I knew, and still know, whether .Dr's
do or not. I do have new u/s ordered for
the 19th and follow up appt for monday the
23rd. I will be lettin everyone know
whats up by then. Unless im in the
hospital, which I very well could be.
