Diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder
Posted: 01-18-06 11:57am

I think I have diagnosed my frieind with bipolar disorder, and she is getting suisidal ideas. This is not the first. No one has ever thought she has a problem like this that she is just lazy and being stupid. Her normal way of dealing with these depressive thoughts is to exercise, and then she will feel ok/good. But is it a good idea to rely on exercise to feel better is it using it like a drug, because when she does not exercise she feels depressed and ill.

Do you think there is a cure to the root of the problem, one which has not been discovered where she can live happily without the need to exercise.

I have told her to see a doctor but she hates herself so much she does not want to be seen and uses greats amount of energy and effort to get ready to go out.

Please help I am worried.

What is wrong with exercise? Better than alchohol or other street drugs..Gently suggest a doctor or just send this forum (not mine) but ehealth forum address through the e-mail to hers..That's a hint but she won't hit you with a frying pan!!! :] don't cage her and so what if it takes her a long time to get ready..When I say when I have a job I will get up 4 hours earlier just to be on time because I have a problem with time...I have no sense of it .... Just to be late anyway... My friends know this and will tell me a party is at 5 and I will show up at 8 (right on time!) there are different ways to skin a cat as they say.. Good luck...
