Hello, my name is justina, I have been
married for 2 years 3years in june. I
suffer from gad(generalized anxiety
disorder) with panic attacks. I am
taking three different medications and I
stopped taking birth control a couple
weeks before starting these medications.
I am a week late for my period and I am
never late. My breasts are sore and
swollen, I wake up through the night the
last few nights to use the washroom, and I
have a funny feeling in my lower tummy.
I kept thinking I was bloating and getting
ready for my period but it doesnt show up.
I am scared because I am on these
medications, and if I go off of them I
will be right back where I started a
nervous wreck.
They say that I will pass that on to my
baby if I am pregnant. What innocent
child deserves that!?! And if I remain
on these medications I am putting the baby
at risk too. I do not know what to do.
I also have been having a thick whitish
discharge it is gross, it is not clear,
and there isn't really an odor. I am a
clean person so this is grossing me out.
I am going to get a pregnancy test this
afternoon I think, to find out but I do
not know about the meds and the discharge.
My doctor is out on maternity leave so I
am lost for help.
Can anyone give me any advice? I would
be greatful.
Thank you,

If you don't mind me asking, what
medications are you taking for the
anxiety? If you are pregnant, I would
call an ob and let them know that your gp
is on mat leave and let them know what
meds you are on. They may see you right
away.

Hi there! You may be pregnant, take a
home pregnancy test, especially if you
have had unprotected sex, it could also be
from stress and anxiety as it takes a
while for the pills to kick in and it
could be from stopping your birth control
pills as it takes time for your body and
system sometimes to get back into shape.
A better way to tell is after missing your
period is to get a blood test (pregnancy)
from your dr and talking to him/ her about
the meds you have been on, if you are
pregnant. Try not to stress as stress is
not good for pregnancy(i know it is easier
said than done).
Good luck!
Keep us posted.

Thank you for the replies. I appreciate
any advice I recieve.
As for the pills that I am taking I am on
propranolol for my heart because it was up
to 141bpm when I was in outpatients with a
severe anxiety attack, celexa 20mg for my
anxiety/panic attacks, and ativan 1mg for
quick relief for anxiety attacks.
I know that the ativan is not good when
pregnant I looked it up but the other two
never said much.
I am going into town tonight with my
husband to pick up a pregnancy test and
i'll let you know how I make out.
If the test is positive I will make a
doctor's appointment asap. I just hope
that no damage has been done as of now if
I am indeed pregnant.
Haha no problem...You just seemed like
someone I knew forever ago. Anyways good
luck with the test!!

Guess What??? Posted: 01-18-06 23:25pm
Well I took the test tonight and guess
what?
I am indeed pregnant. So, tomorrow I
have to make a doctors appointment to see
about the drugs I am taking and the next
step I need to take. I do not know what
to think right now. I am excited, but
yet I am nervous. Wow, I am going to be
a mom, that is if I don't miscarry
again.
Yes I miscarried 3 years ago next month.
I was in college taking my nursing degree
and my boyfriend who is now my husband and
I got pregnant. I couldn't tell anyone
at that time because I was not married yet
and my family is religious and would have
freaked out. Three months passed and I
miscarried. It was the worst experience
I have ever had to go through and I hope
and pray that it doesn't happen again.
But if it does, there is a reason.
So, I thought I would fill you in, but now
I need to go to bed and get some rest.
G'night.
