A patient was prescribed a calcium channel
blocker to prevent angina, by decreasing
the demand for oxygen. Could someone
please tell me why?

Calcium channel blockers are a class of
drugs that block calcium from entering the
cells, by doing this it allows the
arteries ti dialate allowing more blood
rich oxygen to get to the heart thus
reducing angina pain,which is caused by
not enough oxygen getting to the heart
muscle.
