I have a crazy schedule and don't always
wake up at the same time every day.
During the week, i'm up early and usually
take my pill at about 8:00 am. Over the
weekend however, I may take it as late as
1:00 pm. Does this lower birth control's
effectiveness?

Yes, birth control is only 99% effective
if taken 100% correctly...So effectiveness
is lowered slightly...But not
drastically...Maybe it would be easier to
take the pill at night, or lunch
time...Just so it could be consistant...

Well, really the best time of day would be
around midnight I suppose. How should I
make the switch?

I would say to just switch when you start
a new pack...That would be easiest...But
if you just started, gradually do it, like
a coupld hours later each day...

Actually taking the pill within 6 hours is
what is ideal, only the progestin only mini
pill must be taken within an hour of the
time. I work ina clinic and am in the
nursing field, and this is what our guides
say.

Yes that is what I mean.. Like if you
take at 12noon you can take it at 6pm the
next day and still be well protected, it's
when you miss many days and have sex that
you lose protection.
