What is Causing Headaches? Posted: 01-19-06 07:26am
I have had for 4 months now a
pressure-pain behind my right eye, this
pressure/pain also is in the bridge of my
nose, It also accompanies a slight
headache, in the mornings sometimes the
pressure is very strong but then eases
upon wakening. I have had an eye test and
they said i was long sighted and eyes were
perfect. The symptons get worse if i
watch the tv/computer and even being a
passenger in the car but it is not gradual
it is instand. This pressure is everyday
and has been for 4 months. I had a brain
scan (as I was anxious because my father
died of a front global brain tumour and
the doctor thought it best to put my mind
at ease) I also saw a neuroligist who did
several neurology tests and they were
fine). I have been back to the doctors
and they were treating it as sinuses, so i
have had nose sprays and now on
antibiotics but nothing seems to be
working. Could something not have been
seen in the brain scan as no treatment
seems to be working, could i have pulled
an eye muscle or done something to the
back of eye or could there be something at
the very back of my nose as it feels like
it is deep at the back of my eye and
bridge of my nose. I am getting really
really down and my children are suffering
as I am so unahppy. Please can you help
or advise
It is good for you that you don’t have a
brain tumor. I believe that besides long
sightedness, you probably don’t have any
other eye disorder (glaucoma) because the
oculist would have detected one. I also
believe that you probably don’t have
another ear disease because the
ENT-specialist would have also detected
one. Both sinusitis and long sightedness
can cause headaches, so you can treat them
as they arise. If your doctor measured
your blood pressure and made standard
blood analyses, he/she would have told you
that continual high blood pressure or
anemia could cause headaches. If all your
analyses are OK, the only possible reason
for your headaches that remains is anxiety
and stress.
