Got my period today and will be starting the next round of clomid. I know that this cycle is a waste...Oh well! It's just another month.
I will be trying in may again.

My appointment will be on the 27 april to see if my eggs are ripe and the gynea will tell me when to try again.

Lovable: so how any positive ovulation yet?

I am down with depression of not being able to get pregnant. I am glad that u r around, abbysmom....

How have u been? Debbie, is relaxing n trying to be stress free.

As for me, trying to forget the idea of having a baby...

When u have been trying so long, with pcos, over-weight, metformin, clomid, and just name it........

Now the doc did a hormonal blood test and asked me to come back on day 12 for an ultrascan and blood report.... Now I am counting days to day 12... Which is on 13/may/06.

I am not excited over it at all... I am feeling tired this days, mentally and physically.

Abbysmom, tell me about ur updates........

Loveable - i'm sorry to hear that you are so down. I hope that you get good news from your doctor at your next appt. I know it can get frustrating.

As for us, we are putting ttc on hold. I got a great job offer that I just couldn't turn down. I start back to work on 22 may 06. I told my husband that I didn't want to put the baby in daycare so we are putting off ttc for a couple of months. I will only be working for just over a year. I am thinking of starting to try again sep/oct.

I will continue to check the board so please let me know how you are doing.

Well, I had the dotted cross lines on ff but my temp went down today so I didn't ovulate after all. Looks like it will be progesterone for me in a few days.

How are you?

Metformin, Clomid And Ttc
Posted: 08-15-06 13:43pm

This post may seem a little out of place at this point in the forum but I wanted to share my story of metformin, clomid, and ttc.

About 3 years ago my dh and I ttc. Nothing happened so after a year I went to the doctor to find out what was happening. They performed the vaginal ultrasound on me only to discover that I had cysts on both of my ovaries. Immediately, I freaked out. I went online and found every web site I could on pcos. As many of you know, a 'typical' woman with pcos is usually (but not always) overweight, diabetic and possibly experiencing abnormal hair growth. When I read this, I was really perplexed. After having blood tests done, it was clear that I was not diabetic. I'm exactly the weight I should be for my height, and well a few freaky hairs on my chin wasn't exactly what the doctor was thinking. So, I went to another doctor because I was convinced doctor 1 (d1) was a quack. Well, doctor 2 (d2) concurred with d1 about pcos and d2 threw in endometriosis (which no other doctors since then have found) on top of that. D2 started using all of these new fertility terms which really had me psyched out and frightened. Anyway, I couldn't ignore the pcos diagnosis and started taking metformin. After only a week, I lost my appetite and started to lose weight. All food made me feel ill, though I never vomited, I always felt like I would. Of course, I tried clomid for 3 months to no avail. I visited d3 who suggested that I ‘took it wrong.' whatever that meant. After a year with a mixture of visiting d1 and d2, I finally went to d4. D4 was great. The first thing he did was take me off of metformin and changed my diet. I stopped eating breads, beans, potatoes.... And do you know that my last ultrasound in may showed that I had no cysts? Because d4 is very far from where I am (continents away) i'm now visiting d5. D5 is very chilled out. She did learn through a hsp (test to check if your tubes are blocked) that my tubes were fine, but with an abnormal pap smear she went back and discovered some cells that needed to be removed. So, in january I went for leep (a procedure where they slice the cervix to remove irregularities) and 6 months later am having healthy follow-ups!

So, now my dh and I are playing the waiting game...Again...Still. It stinks counting days - feeling pangs - watching endless numbers of family and friends get pregnant, without trying.

I know my story will have a happy ending - whether I conceive or not.

don't give up guys. I have been trying for 3 years I finally discovered clomid. My doctor has me on clomid and metformin also. But I have not conceived yet. I havce only taken one dose of clomid so far. My gyno left for maternity leave to have her twins.. and left me with instructions on how to take the clomid which make absolutely no sense if you ask me. Day 8-12??? i've never heard of anyone taking it then. BUt anyways. I pray for all of us to conceive soon. Why is it that the women who want an TRY to conceive cannot? But young teens are becoming mothers everday li9ke nothing? it makes me so envious of them!
