About 6 months ago, I noticed a small bump behind my 2 front teeth. I figured it was nothing and would go away on it's own. It got a little bigger and started to feel sore so I went to the dentist. She told me it was a gum irritation, to gargle with salt water and peroxide, it would go away. I tried that with my normal flossing and brushing every day and it didn't do a thing. Actually it got bigger. It bleeds and hurts constantly. I also noticed little white bumps on the gums above my 2 front teeth, and tiny patches of white on my bottom gums. Those don't hurt but they are very ugly. Getting in to see dentists and Dr.S takes alot of waiting. I have an appt in 2 weeks to see my Dr. Who will refer me to a ear, nose, and throat specialist. So more waiting. In the meantime I am in alot of pain. My gums are red and swollen and it hurts to eat. I am left guessing what is wrong. I have the high risk form of hpv which can cause oral, anal, and cervical dysplasia. I am high risk for oral cancer so I am scared. Not to be gross, but I noticed an unpleasant odor from the bump behind my teeth. My breathe smells bad. Has anyone ever had oral cancer that was or was not caused by hpv? Would oral cancer have an odor to it? I don't really have anyone to talk to about this and any response would be greatly appreciated.
