You just need to do some research. Most
insurances will cover a midwife working
under a doctor's supervision. I had a
midwife with my second child and it was a
wonderful experience. There were four
midwives working under a doctor and before
my due date I had an opportunity to meet
them all and get to know them. I was much
more in control of the situation and the
midwife was not in a big hurry and much
more in touch with me and the baby then
the doctor was. This time I have moved so
i'll have to see if I can still make the
midwife hospital happen. You should first
check with the hospital you will be
delivering at and see if they have
midwives on staff. Also, give birth at
hospital so if complications arise you are
in the right place to have it handled and
a doctor is nearby.
