Many Symptoms, What Should I Say to Dr? Posted: 01-23-06 23:46pm
Hi i'm 35 and have had severe fatigue for
5 or more years, slowly had hairloss,
memoryloss, dizzy spells and a spinning
feeling, a feeling like carpel tunel in my
hands, my eyes are dry, then suddenly burn
and itch and water (like cutting onions),
extremly swollen feet and sometimes hands
that feel stiff and hurt, my back achs all
the time and occationally radiates to one
or both of my feet and I feel like they
aren't there or they tingle, headachs 3-4
times a week but not always bad, and I
feel like I can't focus my eyes, or my
brain sometimes. I have also had mouth
sores inside my cheek that are white they
don't hurt and there is a white skin that
comes off. In the mornings my feet hurt.
Today I slept soundly for 12 hours and am
about to go to bed, tired already and only
been up for 7 hours. This stuff is not
that severe as often as so many of you on
this board and I feel like I don't feel
bad enough to complain.
I currently take lexapro for depression
and have been on lasix for fluid retention
but it didn't do anything. I am going to
my dr an tues. But I feel stupid, he
will think i'm crazy if I tell he this all
at once. What should I say?

Also about 3 years ago the dr said I had
fifth disease. Now I have read that this
could have been a flare-up of lupus. The
dr at that time said there was no need to
test me for fifth because the problem
would be gone before the test results
would be back. I was better in about a
week.
How long do flares usually last? I am
definitely going to dr tomorrow afternoon.
Just hope he doesn't think i'm crazy.

My doc was great even asked me questions
that I hadn't thought of
i have a whole bunch of blood work in the
morning he said he would be checking for a
lot of things but did specifically ask if
I had heard of cushing's syndrome then he
told me a little about it and said he
wanted to rule that out along with a few
others.

Dr Appointment Posted: 01-29-06 00:07am
I was refered by my gp to see a prof.
Don't know what specialist is? He said
will find out the vibrations, tingling
like, sound like blowing bubbles on my
hands and legs. He said this prof will
sort out the migraine headache as well.
Is this sound like yours "lupus doctor"?
Did everyone of you need a blood test when
the first time that you see you lupus
specialist? What would he do? Please
give me some ideas. Thanks
pika.

my doc ran alot of blood test to confirm
what the ana test had reveiled. He will
ask if you have mouth sores, achey joints,
malor rash and generilized questions to
get a broader scope of what your symptoms
are.
Hope this helps you have an idea of what
to talk to your doc about.
