Circulation Problem? Posted: 12-27-03 15:44pm
My mom, who will be 40 (25- heh heh.)
years old this monday, has recently just
broken her fibula. She is in a cast, and
uses crutches to move around the house,
but there is a reoccuring problem--
after walking around for about 5 seconds
(literally) her casted foot starts to turn
a deep purple and she looses circulation
to her foot. Her calf also gets very
cramped.
She's only been in the cast for about a
week now (5 more to go! Be brave, mom!),
and has had her check-ups. Her doctor has
told her that this is a normal problem,
and to just put her foot up. But, this
problem is very troublesome and is chronic
with her newly casted foot--
could this be a serious problem? And if
so, how can we treat it?
