I stopped taking the pill after only a few
months because I was having a ton of
breakthrough bleeding and rather than
having a moderately heavy period for a
week I was having an extremely light one
for 2 weeks. Also, I forgot to refill my
prescription and would've ended up
starting the pack several days late so I
decided to give my body time to regulate
its hormones then start a fresh pack. I
was supposed to get my period last week
and I haven't gotten it. I don't think
it's possible i'm pregnant since i've only
had sex a few times since my last period
and it was never unprotected and the
condom never malfunctioned. Is it
possible that going off birth control
could make my period late? And if so, how
late is it typically? I'm only worried
because I became pregnant with twins last
year after using a condom that slipped off
and then taking emergency contraception.
It was a million and one chance I was
pregnant, and I ended up having twins!

Whenever you stop taking hormones your
cycles do tend to become very erratic, and
can be late.
Have you considered an iud? It is hormone
free,( paragard) and is good for 10 years.
It is just as effective statistically as
tubal ligation.
