Q: How Long You Had Chlamydia For?

I just got my test results and I got chlamydia that i'm currently being treated for. I will not be trying to get pregnant for maybe another year and I was wondering if I can get some replies to see for how long someone has had it and were you able to get pregnant?

I've had it for about 2 years. I know everyone's body is different, but anyone knows how long it takes on average to get a significant damage done that would lead to infertility (assuming that by now it turned into pid). Thank you very much for taking time to answer!

I have heard that damage can be caused by pelvic inflammatory disease. You can have pid and not even know it. Pid is caused by sexually transmitted diseases in most cases. Doctors say that it can cause damage in a year if left untreated. I would go back to your doctor and make sure they ruled out pid since you had the disease that long. I really hope you don't have any complications, I just want you to know that it is serious.

Thanks! I started having symptoms about a year ago - little burning when urinating, vaginal discomfort. Thought that yeast infection or uti was causing that. I'm sure by now I would have the pid. But never will be sure how much damage is done. Kicking myself on the head for not being tested over the course of the last 2 years...

I was diagnosed my last doctors visit on the 13th of jan. That I had hpv with small and few warts. Since I already have pre cancerous cells it makes my chances of getting cervical cancer higher then before. I really dont know to much about chlamydia but you should look it up. Get some information from some sites.
