Why is my Period Late with a Negative Pregnancy Test? Posted: 01-27-06 11:31am
i had my period 2 days last month which is
unusual for me. this month i am 5 days
late i took 2 pregnancy tests 4 days ago
they were negative so my question is
should be alarmed that something is more
seriously wrong with me or could i still
be pregnant or just late??
Pregnancy test results are valid if the
test is taken no less than 10 days after
ovulation OR not more than 5 days before
the starting date of an expected period.
According to this criteria, your pregnancy
test results are valid. Because they are
negative... YOU ARE NOT PREGNANT. Your
period is late because of another
reason(s), probably related to hormonal
disturbances. Ovarian cysts can cause such
hormonal disturbances. Go to your
gynecologist for an ultrasound examination
and to consult with the doctor about the
best course of treatment.
