Just wondering, have they talked to you about having a c-section?

You need to express all of these things to your doc so that he/she can be aware of this during your delivery.

As far as the chipped pelvic bone I have no idea how that would effect your delivery but the epidural may not be a problem depending on where your injury is located. Or at least that is what they told my sister. She was in a car wreck and injured her back and it didnt' affect her receiving the epidural.

Just make your doc clear to your concerns.

I know if you have a c-section that they can do a local at the sight of the c-section. There aren't many cons to a c-section other than the recovery period is longer than that of a vag delivery. Any complications with the healing process may cause problems. However I didnt' have any complications with my first c-section and I am not sure which way I am going to go with this one.

My sister in law is due in a few weeks, she had osteomalitis(bone infection) in her hip and had to have her bone fused to her hip(like glued on) she also has back problems.

She was going to get a c-section(she cant get an epidural) and so they would have done local anethesia (putting you to sleep) and injecting a local freezing at the site of incision. She is thinking about having it vag now depending on the size of the baby and the labor pain.....

The dr informed her though that she is not to eat 8-12 hours before labor in case of emergency section which may arise buit besides that she was told there are other pain reliever she can have..

Reserach as much as you can weigh out the pros and the cons you may not be able to have an epi so make a back up plan for pain relief..

Best of luck
