Hello all, im new in the forums and to
diabetes as well. However I have a
question I went to the doctor like a month
ago due to a few palpitations I had (not
related to diabetes I guess), and he
ordered a bunch of tests for me to do.
In the fasting one I had 92 on the sugar
count (i have always been in the 85-95)
range all my life, however he decided to
make the glucose tolerance test, the
reading I got when I got there was 91 then
after the first hour I got 210 he said the
maximun was 200, and then in the second
hour I had 170 he said the maximun was
140, by the third hour I was back to 86.
After seeing my results he said I was a
diabetic prescribed no meds only to lose
weight (im like 40 pounds overweight) and
exercise.
Im also been taking beta blockers a week
and a half prior to the test (25mg every
night) and I wondered if that may
influence the test somehow, with my
current insurance policies I cannot see
another doctor right now, (i'll try to
solve that because I want a seccond
opinion) but with the experience of this
forum what do you guys think?
