Genital Warts and Displasia Posted: 01-28-06 21:34pm
I found out that I had genital warts 3
years ago. Since then I have gotten
married, and told my husband about the
problem before we ever had intercourse.
Now I have found out that I have severe
dysplagia on my cervix and my husband and
I have a few questions. Can the genital
warts be transmitted only when there is an
outbreak? And is this condition with my
cervix considered an outbreak? Also, if
he continues giving me oral sex, will he
get these warts in his mouth? AND... if
we get them in our mouth, can be give this
to my son by kissing him? Thanks, and I
hope you can answer these questions for
me.
Genital warts are caused by the Human
Papiloma Virus (HPV). There are many types
of HPV. Some types of HPV attack the skin,
some the mucosa (genital, oral, anal) and
some types attack both the skin and the
mucosa. Further, there exist genital
sero-types of HPV that are associated with
cervical cancer. These cause displasia of
the cervical mucosa that can be
transformed into a cancer. That’s why
the displasia is called "precancerous".
Severe cervical displasia (gr.III) is a
very serious condition and should be
treated surgically (conisation) to prevent
the development of cancer. HPV-infections
can be transmitted by oral sex and there
are chances (small) that infections are
transmitted by simple kissing. My advice
to you is to START TREATING YOUR
HPV-INFECTION and displasia BEFORE IT IS
TOO LATE!!!
