Lately I think i've started having anxiety
or panic attacks, but i'm not sure. Twice
this week my heart began racing out of
control, like I was afraid of something
but I don't know what. Along with that I
had a sinking feeling. Kind of a very
unworldly, lonely feeling. I was really
concerned that I might be going crazy. I
thought about seeing a doctor but am more
worried i’d just be put on some
medication. I found a list of anxiety
symptoms at www.Selftherapy.Org ,
which has calmed me down a bit as it's
sounds quite like what i’m experiencing.
Has anyone every tried that program? Or
have any other suggestions? Does this
sound like anxiety??

Hey Man. Posted: 01-30-06 19:43pm
Hey man, I know how you feel. I get the
same way, almost 24 hours a day except for
when i'm at school. 17 years old and
having to deal with this stuff, not fair,
is it? But oh well, we all cope. But
still you should go get checked out just
to make sure, it will ease your mind a
little, I know it did mine, much luck
friend.

They Can't Force You to Take Meds If You Dont Want to Posted: 01-30-06 21:25pm
I think you should talk to your doctor or
a counselor about it and if you dont want
to be on meds they cant make you take
them. As for dealing with an anxiety
attack I suggest slow deep breathing,
really focus on the air coming in and
going out again. Then take a nap or go
to bed depending on your situation and the
time of day. If you arent in a situation
that allows you to sleep try thinking
about things that make you happy or calm
instead. There are also some herbal
things you can try but talk to your doctor
about it before you take anything. Hope
that helps, I also dont like taking
medication unless I absolutley have to.
