Q: 39 Weeks And Counting. . .

Hi everyone,

i am new to this forum today and I would just like to say how tiring pregnancy is towards the end. I am 39 weeks 3 days and my baby is due on the 3rd february. The first and second trimester seemed to go reasonably quickly but the last few weeks of pregnancy doesn't half make you feel like a huge water balloon! I am sooooo excited for my baby to arrive and every day I am looking for the signs of going into labor. This is my first child and I know it isn't going to be easy once I am in labor but I just want to live the experience of giving birth right now! I am being so inpatient but I cannot help it. I have been getting alot of backache lately and lots of white and really weird smelly discharge (sorry for sharing too much info lol) does anyone know whether this is a sign that labour is near?

I'm sure labour is near just cause you're so far along (i had my son when I was 39w 3d!!) what kind of smelly? Is it bad? If so it could be an infection that should be checked out. Have you been having any sort of cramps? I never had braxton hicks and didn't even know I was in labour till my water broke but had been having crampy feelings all that day (contractions I now know)

Thanks for your reply.

No, the smells arnt really bad at all just different. Hinestly, everyday I am just waiting for my waters to either break or the sign of the plug to show. I am just so excited! I keep looking in the hospital bag that I have packed and keep changing the babys clothes for when he arrives. I feel so silly! It just seems like it is taking forever! I may still have 2 weeks to go if he is late and I am becoming more and more impatient as the days go by. When I ring my husband at work he is always on edge just in case I have rang to let him know that I am in labor haha! Everyone is getting really excited but I just feel like I am being selfish by wanting him here right now.

Nah it's totally normal to feel that way right now. I was soooooooo sick of being pregnant by the end. I didn't lose my plug till my waters broke so it may be the same for u. Good luck!!!!
