I have had a birth mark on my arm since I
was born and over the last 5 or so years
of my life i've been getting mole/type
freckles. The doctor diagnosed it as
melanoma. I'm going to get surgery before
the end of february but I worry...Are the
scars going to be hideous or noticeable?
I have a terrible scar beneath my neck
from an operation when I was quite young,
and I don't want my arms and back covered
in them.

They want to make sure to remove the
entire lesion, so depending how big the
mole is will determine how big the scar
is. But remember, it's more important to
remove the melanoma than to worry about
scarring. Do you know what stage the
melanoma is?
