I am sure this topic has been brought up
already but I am curious to know if it is
true.
I am 11 1/2 weeks and heard the heartbeat
yesterday. So neat! Anyways, it was in
the 160's and people are telling me that
means it is a boy?? Or is it opposite?

I recently had an ultrasound and the the
doctor said that to me also - but he said
the slower heartbeat was a boy, and the
faster was a girl.
He said he wasn't aware of any medical
evidence to support it, he just found that
around 90% of the time he was correct.

Whenever I heard that I asked my doctor
about it and she said that she totally
doesnt believe any of the myths...She said
that most of them make no sence ..So I
really wouldnt go by them if I were you
...But people are different and believe
different things so ..Im not the one who
will tell you what to think...

It worked with my granbaby's. Even
though I know it is a wives tale. The
girl much faster, and the boy much slower.
I believe that is how it was. They
told us a range and neither ever crossed
that range either, except in labor.

It has always held true for people I have
known. My doc says it is about 90%
accurate. Boy-under 140, girl-over 140.
My son was always in the 120's.

high. Last time it was 156 and the time
before that he was 168.
