Can you Become Pregnant While Taking the "Inactive" Week of Posted: 02-01-06 21:59pm
I have been taking Yasmin for about 2
years now. I was wondering if you can get
pregnant while you are taking your
inactive pills? I am just a little scared
about a mishap. I was also on my monthly
period at the time and he withdrew. Could
you give me some advice?

If you take contraceptive pills according
to the directions that accompany the
prescription, you will most likely prevent
pregnancy. You can’t get pregnant while
you take inactive pills because you
menstruate during that time. Inactive
pills are taken during infertile days of
the cycle. Even if the inactive pills are
not taken there is no immediate danger of
becoming pregnant. Inactive pills are
taken only as a formality and to get you
in the habit of taking the pills.
