Q: Nails & Hair While Preg. Can Ya Do It??

I've got just a quick question for everyone... Im almost 11 weeks pregnant, and one to keep my nails done and my hair highlighted. I spoke w/my dr about the risks of having my hair nails done and they said I needed to wait till after the first trimester was over and if I did do it, to do it in well ventlated areas. I know the fumes are harmfull with having your figernails done, but with hair are you more at risk because its your hair and its going into your body?? Im just curious and wonder what everyone else done while they are/were pregnant. Its not a big deal for me to let it go, im just curious.

Thanks e'body~*

Yep its fine as soon as do it professionally i.E. Hairdressers
coz the hair dyes that are for home applications are a lot stronger. At least with professional help they could just apply the appropriate amount that you need.
As per nails I prefer doing it indoors (not that I can reach it anymore) lol coz its safer and hygienic using ur own nail stuff.
As they say just dont over do
good luck!

I wouldn't go into a nail salon while pregnant. Those fumes are absolutely awful. If I were you, i'd avoid it. I do my own nails but the fumes are nothing like salons.

I have heard not to do either. I am letting my hair and nails go.

Well I asked my doctor while I was pregnant about the two ..She told me no to getting my nails done..The odor is to strong and bad for the development of the babys lungs..And as for hair she said its alright after 3 months ..But in a well venalated area..But some doctors are different but I just went by what mine said
