Right to Your Own Body

One of the main reasons for being pro-choice is the belief that people have the right to control their own body. Specifically, they cannot be legally compelled to donate their organs or bodily fluids to someone else, no matter how great the other person's need.

If someone is dying of kidney failure, and you are the only person whose tissue matches, no one can force you to donate a kidney.

If someone needs a bone marrow transplant, no one can force you to donate your bone marrow.

There is no legal requirement for anyone to give blood.

Therefore, no woman can be forced to give up her bodily autonomy just because a fetus would die if it was removed.

This basic human rights undercuts the very premise of "it's a human being." no one has the right to use someone else's body against their will. Any woman who chooses to remain pregnant, is generously donating the use of her body -- and that is not just her uterus, but her whole system -- to the needs of another creature. But under no circumstances is that creature legally entitled to demand that.

The main reason that I converted from the pro-life way of thinking is that I realized that the government already controls just about every aspect of our lives. They shouldn't be able to control our bodies, as well.
The government has no right to say what decision we're allowed to make. It really has begun to bother me. I've really opened up my eyes a lot since i'm not sucked into the black hole I was in when my nose was always in my bible. Seperation of church and state, abortion, everything. I've changed my views on... *everything*!!! Lol
as I said, I still with there wasn't a reason for abortion to be "necessary", but I think it's just morally wrong to tell someone they have no right to decide what they do with their body.

I am definitely one of the pro-choicer's that is not full of hate and anger as I have seen and done too much in my life!
In the 1st place if you are a pro-lifer you are posting in the wrong area.
The 2nd place, I seriously hope that if they ever do change the abortion right law that you are never seriously laying there needing an abortion and the dr's tell you no because it is against the law, which has happened prior to one of my friends who used precautions in the right way and they failed her and she and the fetus did not have enough time to wait for all of the red tape to go thru.
Many times abortions are not evil, not as evil as a baby born that is unwanted that is neglected abused unloved but maybe you have not seen that yet, I have and it is very, very sad. Look at the times where rape or incest were involved or a baby born with some of the main parts missing and not all can be replaced. It is not evil, a lot of the times, it is being understanding, which I realize that you do not understand. I suppose you remember being 8 to 10 weeks in your mothers tummy feeling pain and being born when you were. Neither one of us would remember the abortion as we would be dead.
The best to you! It is too bad that you have such negative thoughts about those that are pro-choice and that really understand and care!

I haven't removed all of maggick's posts because some of them were kind of polite, and this is her first offense. But you should know, I basically have a no-tolerance policy when it comes to pr-lifers posting on the pro-choice forum. Sorry this got out of control; but all of these topics suddenly apprared within the past two days it seems. I'm working on cleaning them up, and unlocking them.
