Is it better to be circumcised?
Please explain why you chose
yes/no/depends.
And also please answer the question even
if you have no idea which one to choose.
Thats why I added an extra box saying
"don't have a clue."

I have a two year old son and I will
circumsise him as i believe it is more
hygienic.

It depends on the circumstances. If
there's infection or unresolvable
phimosis, then yes, get circumcised. But
if there's nothing wrong, there's no
reason for circumcision. If hygeine is the
issue, just be more hygeinic. It's not
that hard.

There aren't any really strong medical
reasons for the practice. It reduces the
chances of ever contracting penile cancer
from next to nothing to even closer to
nothing, and it simplifies hygiene in some
ways, but the only really strong reason to
have it done is just because that's the
tradition in the USA.
It's a stupid tradition, arguably, but
when I had to make that call, I got the
end of my son's tallywhacker whacked off,
and perpetuated the stupid ritual of
genital mutilation for another generation.
It was a tough call, and probably the
thing that clenched it was imaging a scene
where he'd get the crap beaten out of him
in the locker room because he had a freak
penis.
As it turned out, times have changed, and
they don't make boys shower naked together
anymore, so that rationale was pretty
poorly founded in retrospect.
I don't really have any regrets about
having been circumcised myself though.
It's just what I'm used to, and the human
penis in its natural state is totally
bizarre to my eyes. Even a little gross
looking.
