Are Pustules in the Upper Pubic Region Caused by an STD? Posted: 02-07-06 10:27am
My question is regarding my sexual
partner. He recently came back from a
trip from Asia. When he came home, he had
3 pustules (pus-filled acne-like sores in
his upper pubic area and they are taking a
while to heal and they are still red since
he "popped" them. Could this be something
like ingrown hairs or acne?...or is this
maybe an SDT of some kind. The pustules
were at the top reaches of the pubic hair.
It is a hard subject to bring up, so I do
not want to touch on it without being
informed.
Thanks.

It doesn't sound as if your partner has an
STD. Those pustules are probably
inflammation of the hair follicles
(folliculitis). He can administer an
antibiotic cream on them after he has
popped them. If this doesn’t help, he
can go to a dermatologist.
