Http://www.Robbiedave.Com/lum p.Jpg i have this lump behind my ear. The symptoms are it is hot to the touch, soft, and weaping blood and puss from a small hole. There is no center but just feels like a collection of fluid under the skin (deep) which is painful to touch. I have these lumps appear sometimes after I wash vigourously behind my ears, or other times when I fall ill with a common cold. They usually swell and eventually weap until all the fluid comes out and the swelling goes down. What I want to know is what are these lumps and why do they keep reappearing? I have read about cysts but am unable to find a image of the cyst behind ear on the internet. Can these lumps be treated so they never return or is this one of those things I have to live with for the rest of my life?

I had a redish spot behind my left ear. It did swollen. I went to family doctor. He figure it was a shingles. Shingles are very very painful. If you had chicken pox at a young age. You likely will develop shingles in adult. Shingles is like chicken pox except it remain in your system. How it started, last decemeber, my canal ear swollen huge. It was so painful. It was so painful I wont let anyone touch me. It hits the nerves spot made it worst. You need to have a specist to see your inner ear. The fluid can damage and rotten out the eardrum. If it hits ur hearing hair (neaves) you will likely loss ur hearing if not taken care of. However, a month and half later, I found what I had in decemeber was not shingles. It was something worst. You can test if u have shingles through blood work.

You should have it checked out and drained and get some antibiotics I have one on my shoulder but it is not infected but it is similar and it will keep coming back until they get the root of it out. Good luck!
