this is a difficult subject. There is not
a lot of answers, and also not a lot of
research. I know there are a few success
stories, but I don't know of a lot of
them.
I am looking for women who suffer or
suffered from this condition, in order to
determine what has been done, so far, and
what has worked or not.
I am gathering information and opening
discussions on this subject to find a
natural, biological, alternative way to
find treatment for it!
Any comments, ideas, and suggestions are
welcome!
Thank you!

This is a duplicate of what I posted under
"painfull intercourse....." but this is
probably the better topic (please see my
other posts at that topic as well).
But here is what I have used to help
combat this problem:
ok...I was prescribed to do the following
-
lidocaine 2.5% and prilocaine 2.5% (emla)
(placed on the area about 20min before
intercourse) it really helps to ease the
pain
also:
low oxate diet and take calcium citrate
pills (i will post on the diet at a later
post)
and....The elavil (anti-depressant)
after using all three I still have
pain...But just not as severe as it used
to be. There is still no cure for
vulvodynia...But they have found some
treatment to make you more comfortable
during sex.

Treatments For Vulvodynia Posted: 06-05-06 19:15pm
I only skimmed some of what was written
and I am a bit horrified. I have had my
diagnosis for 7 years and one of the very
first things I was taught was that steroid
creams were already found out to be a huge
no no for us. They knew at that point
that they cause a bounce back syndrome.
Vulvodynia has so many causes and each
woman needs to work with their
practitioner to figure out what is her
particular underlying cause for the
disease. This goes for vestibulitis too.
I can't say that everything that worked
for me will work for you. What I can
tell you is that alternative medicine
treats the body as a whole not a part and
because of that if you find a good
acupuncturist/herbalist?Reiki practitioner
you can begin the process and start
healing. I have dedicated the last 6
years to running the site
vulvodyniasupport.Com there is a lot of
information there to be found including
support groups worldwide, doctor listings
that were direct recommendations from
other patients, a message board, and a
call to action page to sign. There is
also a small blog and articles from
healthcare practitioners and patients who
have been through this before your
diagnosis and might offer some insight.
Sometimes it just takes finding the right
person's story that you can relate to and
then following their path to get you the
help you need. What I can tell you is
that you must be careful with creams
because they create a moist host that is
ripe for creating yeast infections, yeast
infections cause many of us adhesions,
then we are raw because of the infection
and it becomes cyclical. I have been 99%
pain-free for many years now. I make
modifications when I work to help this
stay that way. I have a special chair at
work and a special cushion at home. I do
not wear jeans anymore. However, simply
doing only that probably would not make
you better. Those are things that help
prevent it from getting worse once under
control. You can feel free to email me
any time or check out the site I run and
scour it for information. Make sure you
check out the links page. If you find
great links for me to add please let me
know. Wishing you pain-free days!

Thanks for the information. Where did
you get the special chair for work and
cushion for home? I can only sit in a
Stressless chair at home and want a
cushion to sit on while travelling.
Would appreciate any information
