Q: Cramping During Your First 6 Weeks???
asked by: NicoleF on December 28th, 2003

I am 6 weeks pregnant and I am experiencing, almost like period cramps, but not as severe. I have a history of endometriosis and have had an ovary removed with some "fixing up" of the other ovary which still contains small folicle cysts. I am very concerned with the craming. But do not see my doctor for another 2 weeks. Should I be pushing an earlier appointment?? Help!!

First of all, ignore this fool that is going around leaving nasty comments. I only wish I had half the time he/she (or probably in this case - it) does to do such nonsense.

As far as your question, I think that, if you are concerned with anything and especially given your history, it would be a good idea to at least call your dr office, tell them what you told us, and see what they think. If they request to see you earlier, then do so. If they say to wait it out until your appointment, stick to that, unless something else would happen that would cause you to be concerned further.

Also, it may be a good idea to keep some sort of a list or journal about these things and how you feel/what you experience each day so that you remember all the details to tell the dr at your appt.

God bless and good luck! Smile

Thank you so much. You're right. Ignore the idiots. I will be sure to call the doctor tomorrow morning. And the journal, great idea. Thanks again.

Is this your first pregnancy? I think you should be concerned. Maybe the fool who posted the one comment isn't completely dumb. Could your cramps be associated with gas or constipation? Just giving you some other possibilities! I'm in my sixth week also and I have cramps that dont really hurt but they just make me uncomfortable sometimes. Have you been bleeding at all? I think you should most definetely get in touch with your doc asap! I'm praying for you!

I Agree
Cramping can be caused from almost anything, growing pains, sex, sleeping wrong on your new belly and yes even having to take a caca can hurt the stomache. Most of the time my cramps are from gas. But if the cramping is severe, deffinetely go to the docs.

Thanks for all the advice. I called the doctor today and they have moved my appointment up a week to the 7th of january. And said that if I experience any spotting or blleeding to go to the hospital right away. So far, no bleeding. This is my first pregnancy. I am experiencing massive nausia, but no actual throwing up. Is this normal? Also the cramping has eased.

Nausea
I think nausea, even on a massive level, can be normal, and in fact most women, so I have heard, don't actually throw up. As long as you are able to get fluids down (dehydration is a major problem) and vitamins (prenatal, folic acid, etc.) I think you'll be okay.

Definitely get to the hospital if you have bleeding. I was about 8 weeks pregnant and last night I was taken to the hospital. I had a miscarriage because of a hormonal imbalance. Crying or Very sad

i'm sure you will be great, however... Good luck and god bless! Smile i'm happy for you.

Thanks!
Thanks so much. I am doing really well considering the situation. God has really given me a peace, and I wouldn't be able to get through this without him and also without my wonderful, supportive husband. I knew, no matter what, things would happen according to god's will, and that is what i've prayed daily.

I am looking forward to going to the doctor to get this hormonal thing straightened out and try again. I know I am fertile and can get pregnant, it is just a matter of carrying to term.

Again, I wish you much luck with your baby! May 2004 be full of miracles for you, in addition to your new little one. Smile
