Chronic Headache Posted: 02-12-06 21:41pm
Hi,
i need your help. Over 2 years ago, I got
a bad strain of the flu. I woke up one
morning and the room started spinning.
Ever since that moment I have had a
permanent headache. It has never gone
away. It started off solely as pressure
in my forehead. Now it can move to the
top of my head and give me a fuzzy feeling
while often developing into an actual
ache. It is getting worse over time. I
have had cat scans which showed nothing,
i've seen an eft specialist who found
nothing. I've been treated for a sinus
headache several times and no improvement.
I've been treated for a tension headache
by a neurologist with no improvement.
I've had acupuncture and naturopathic
treatments and, osteopaths have worked on
my body for months for no relief. I feel
like i'm running out of options. If
anyone has any idea what might be causing
this headache i'd love to hear from you!

Hi: I am suffering from something very
similar to you, only mine has been much
more recent. It all started over new
years this year, I was dreadfully sick
with what the doctors finally ruled as a
viral infection. They took me to the
e.R., but I was mostly dehydratred for
several days. I just had a splitting
headache. Anyways, ever since then I
felt like I had a pressure in my forehead,
extremely uncomfortable sometimes... And
just noticeable others... Any ways, I
also have had aches every day since about
3 weeks ago, that come and go throughout
the day. I was very scared as to what it
may be. But after talking to a family
friend who is a physician I think I might
know what is causing it.... I have been
suffering from anxiety and a pretty good
amount of stress. I was so worried that
this headache may be caused by a brain
tumor or anurysm or something. He said
that the headaches are most likely stress
related from the anxiety I have been
feeling. Sure enough, I have been trying
to relieve my stress and anxiety and the
headaches are not nearly as severe or
frequent. They are not completely gone,
but they are way better. Is it possible
that you might be suffering from anxiety
or an unusual amount of stress? You may
want to look into it. Anxiety can do
some weird stuff to your body, you'd be
amazed!!

Hi, thanks for your reply. I don't think
i've been that stressed however i'm
willing to try anything. I have taken up
yoga and meditation with no results so
far. Have you tried anything else to
relieve your stress and anxiety?

Well, anxiety and stress are very
complicated to relieve without meds, which
I will not take. Its a ruthless cycle
where anxiety causes stress and the added
stress then causes more anxiety.... But
yes, I have found ways to relieve it,
which I am hoping will eventually lead to
getting rid of it completely. Exercise
is my one good way to relieve stress and
helps my anxiety tremendously. It also
helps to that I know that I have anxiety,
and that there's not something wrong with
me. Once I understood what it was doing,
it is easier to get a handle on it. Have
you had any sort of panic attacks or
anything?

I don't suffer from panic attacks and
exercising actually makes my headache
worse! I have to make sure it's light
exercise such as walking. I used to be a
very anxious person but I don't get
anxious very much at all now. Just wish I
knew what my body is doing.

Couple Thoughts Posted: 05-02-06 12:28pm
I'm working to figure out why I am having
chronic headaches.
I hear that meditation helps.
I think that some of my problem is due to
my posture at the computer. My chair
stinks.
I also think that my jaw may have
something to do with my problem.

Have you thought about talking to a
naturopathic dr or a physical therapist
for a massage. Have you had your neck
checked out for any problems there such as
a pinched nerve or something similar to
that.
Have you tried using that stuff that you
rub on your head. Have you had a
complete eye examination? I am not a dr
but these are a few of my thoughts.

Hi sandy,
i have seen several naturpaths and had a
remedial massage plus massages by
osteopaths. I have had my neck checked
and worked on which made no improvement.
I have also had a complete eye
examination. I don't know about the stuff
you rub on your head? What is called and
what is it supposed to do?
