I can feel my baby having hiccups in my tummy but only once in awhile. A friend of mine says her baby gets it all the time like 2-3 times a day... Since my baby doesnt hiccup that much, is that still normal?

Ya not all babies get hiccups. My son got them 2-3 times a day in my stomach the last couple of months and got them like that after he was born for a few months too. But my friend who;s son is 1 1/2 months older than mine never had them.

If they have a diaphragm...They have hiccups...Think about it like this...How often do you get the hiccups to where you're hiccuping 20 or 30 repetitive times??

The same applies for your baby..If you feel them once in a while..That means they have a diaphragm and he/she is perfectly healthy

they don't always hiccup though...I hiccup maybe once a year!! Lol...

You and your baby are fine!

Good luck!

Something to do with the diaphragm when you swallow/breathe it can move the wrong way, so you get hiccups while its trying to move back the right way again....Something like that?? Babies practice swallowing, using the amniotic fluid, thats probably why it can happen to them.

My baby gets lots of hiccups in there....Sometimes it's really annoying like when i'm at work and i'm trying to concentrate on a prospective client and he's bouncing my belly around like a mexican jumping bean. Sometimes it's soooo adorable like when i'm on the couch in my pj's drinking hot tea...

I only remember hiccups with my first son. He had them all the time, many times a day. I dont remember the other 2 having them at all.

They are actually spasms of your diaphragm....Nothing but the diaphragm relaxing makes them go away....

My fiance still thinks that drinking water on his head makes the painful ones go away!! Lol....What a goober!!

No sooner than I posted last night..My baby got the hiccups!! Lol...My belly was bouncing all around!!

She's getting so big that it's almost uncomfortable when she moves...You can def. See knees and elbows protruding right under my ribs and all around my b button!!
