Help - Going In For Endoscopic After Suspected Gallbladder.. Posted: 02-15-06 19:06pm
I woke up with acute pain almost 2 weeks
ago worse than labor and kidney stones.
Right under right rib cage. Lasted for 4
hours and wanted to shoot myself. I was
finally on the toilet both with diarrea
and throwing up green bile. The same
thing happened the exact same time the
next night - slightly less pain and only 3
hours. No throwing up or diarrea. A
couple days later, I am feeling bloated
and haven't had a bowel movement in 4
days. I went to the emergecy room
because I was afraid I was impacted.
They took an x-ray. The saw most of the
fecal matter in the first part of the
large colon so said I should see an gi.
I went to see a gi the next day - great
insurance - he examined me and told me he
though it was my gall bladder and
constipation was a symptom. Had
ultrasound - came back perfect. Blood -
perfect. Now he wants to do an endoscopy
tomorrow morning. What in the hell will
that do? I would think a hida scan or
even colonoscopy for the constipation
would be better. Has anyone had this
done? Seems like a weird next step. I
would appreciate any feedback...
