Late Period

Ok, I have heard if you hang around
someone long enough, you can take there
cycle. Well I am late for mine but a
gurl at work just found out she was
pregnant. Could that be messing up my
cycle?

Not likely. I've heard that too and it
usually seemed to work out that way when
i've lived with another female (friend or
mother)...But it has been scientifically
proven to be a myth. Even if there was a
chance that it were true...I'm not sure it
would work the same way with someone you
work with. If you are late it could be
for many reasons. Stress can do it...And
having found out she's preggo...You could
be wishing for pregnancy so much that
you've actually prevented yourself from
getting your period. You could buy a test
now to be sure...Or wait a few more days.
I hope this helps! Best of luck to you.

enough ?

Unfortunatley it isn't. Even pre-cum can
impregnate you and there's no way he can
tell when that happens to be able to pull
out. Listen...Best advice I can give you
is to relax...The more you stress over
it...The later your period will likely be.
It could be that because you were
stressing over it...Your period has not
come yet. If in a few days...You still
don't have your period...Buy a home
pregancy test to be sure. I hope all
works out...But there's no point worrying
when you don't know for sure yet if
there's anything to worry over. Take
care...Let me know how everything turns
out. And...Keep smiling!! :)

Ok, yes I am trying not to worry about
this. It's just I wasn't worried about it
before.... So I should have started on
time. Right? There was nothing that I
was stressed over or anything. No reason
why I should have been late. I didnt
start worrying until I didn't start 2 days
ago. So? Do you have an answer for that
? Lol I am not ready for a baby at all.
And I know not protecting ourselves is
just plain stupid. W/b

If you’ve recently been sick, gained or
lost a significant amount of weight or
have taken any new medications...These can
all be reasons for a late or even missed
period. Also...2 days really doesn't mean
that much. My cycle can sometimes
fluctuate from 28 to 34 days between
periods.
I'm just curious...How old are you? How
old were you when you started getting your
period?

I am 19 and I want to say I started my
period when I was 13. I have always been
regular though. I can count 28 days
almost to the hour. That's how regular,
the beginning of last month I started
dieting and that made me 2 days late last
month, but I haven't been dieting this
month I do take some diet pills I have
been taking since jan but I just find it
hard to believe that it still would be
throwing me off. I have all the symptoms
like im going to start but nothing. I
have really really bad cycles every
month- I cramp so much where I throw up
the first two days, double over in pain,
can't eat, can't sleep, can't keep any
medicine down, it's horrible but still it
is regular. We have really been having
sex regularly on the weekends and never
use anything. My boyfriend told me he's
not worried because he didn't cum in me.
But like you said just a little bit of
pre-cum can get me pregnant. We are both
not ready for a baby, I mean we aren't
even married yet planning on it though.
It would cause so many problems. And it
is very stupid of us.

Yeah...It could be because of the diet
pills. It would have taken until now to
fully go through your system.
By the way...I have experienced the exact
same symptoms as you when I get my period.
Sometimes intercourse can be painful.
Turns out I have endometriosis. The
presence of endometrial tissue (tissue
that normally lines the uterus) in
abnormal locations such as the ovaries,
fallopian tubes and abdominal cavity.
This causes severe pain and heavy
menstration. You should talk to your
doctor...There are ways of treating this
disease. Unfortunately it is a fairly
common one. Do some research on the net
to see if you have any other symptoms that
relate to endo. No one should be in that
much pain during menstration. Let me know
what you find when you look it up on the
net. It's the most likely cause of all
the pain.
Best of luck!

That's a good point to make, some women's
cycles don't seem to regulate until into
their twenties. It could just be that.

Yep I have a lot of those symptoms, my
dads sister had that actually. I have
never been to the gyno to get examined.
Im sure I should go. I just dont
understand why I would be late beings im
so regular. I think im going to go and
take a test today after work just in case.

Good idea for sure. Btw...Gyno will not
be able to diagnose endo without a
laparoscopy. But...If you have enough
symptoms they may give you birth control
pills that you take everyday (you would
skip the sugar pills and start a new pack
right away). This stops your period and
therefore gives your body a chance to heal
and the endo stops growing. No more
period...No more pain!...And no chance of
pregnancy. Once you want children...You
stop taking the pill. You may opt to go
ahead with the laparoscopy if you have as
severe pain as you are experiencing (you
can do a search to read more on this too).
When they do the lap...They would go
ahead and remove the excess endometrium
tissue and then follow up with the birth
control pills (referred to in this case as
hormone therapy) to prevent further
growth. I have been through all of this
and I know first hand how painful it can
be (not the lap...It was pretty easy...But
the periods because of the endo).
I hope you look into this...I am very
concerned that you have this from what you
describe. If left unchecked...The
endometrium tissue continues to grow and
pain becomes more severe. The only way to
get it under control is hormone therapy
and/or surgery (laparoscopy).
Good luck...And let me know how everything
goes. :)

Thanks for all your help today. Yes, I
will definately look into this. I do
think the pain is getting worse actually.
I have to miss a day and a half of work
each month for my cycle. Well I will let
you know what happens with everything.
Thanks again and i'll get back with you
soon

Hey...No thanks needed! That's what we're
here for. Lol! I hope all goes well.
And yeah...I had to schedule days off for
mine too. Happy to say that I had the lap
and hormone therapy and things couldn't be
better!! :)
best wishes,
melanie ;-)
