I was induced with all four of my kids and
expect to be induced with this one. The
first one was the longest, lasting (2)
days, my last one, my daughter took (6)
hours. With my daughter, I was not
progressing, so they assisted me by the
induction. You really cannot gauze what
it will be like, cause I can tolerate pain
pretty well, while others cannot. People
told me before the birth of my oldest son
that it was going to hurt like "hell", but
I had a somewhat ez time. It depends on
the person.

I had to be induced with baby no2, he was
2 weeks early but my waters broke and
labour didnt start, I had group b strep so
I couldnt be left for risk of infection,
as far as the induction goes I ended up
with the i.V drip because nothing else
worked, I had to have a drip with
antibiotics for the strep b too, and
moniters on me at all times this was the
hardest thing as I could hardly move!
The labour lasted 5 hours at first it went
really slow then suddenly sped up at the
end! I managed the pain just about but
then again I had nothing to compare it too
because I had a planned c-section with my
1st son as he was breech so this was my
1st proper labour.
Wishing you the best, sure you will be
fine!

I was in labor for 2 weeks and once my
water broke it nothing else happened, so I
was induced.
The induction caused my contractions to be
unbearable, and I ended up with an
epidural. I tried as hard as I could to
go without, but with my contractions
pounding away, I was unable to relax and
let myself dilate.
They started the pitocen at about 9:30 am,
I got my epidural at 4pm, and had my son
at 5:55. :)

Thanks all of you for replying...I have
been so worried. I read up on induced
labor on different websites and heard that
if you don't go into labor that they end
up having to do a c-section..Which scares
me even more lol....Why can't I just go
into labor by myself lol...No luck here=(
but good luck to all of you...And thanks
again.

Since when do you have to have a csection
if you don't go into labor? Lol...
Sometimes the baby can get stuck behind
the pelvic bone (as the case with my
sister) but if there's no distress and you
haven't been in active labor for like, 3
days, I wouldn't worry. Lol unless you
have a baby that's too big to make it
through the pelvic bone, induction should
be effective. =)

my first son, I did go into labor--but at
5cm, I had to be helped with pitocin--36
1/2 hours later I had my son. The .Dr
had told me on friday if I dont go in by
next friday he would induce me. I woke
up that next morning(saturday) in labor.
Second child--my daughter I never went
into labor by myself--she was induced and
26 hours later I had her.
Last son, tried to induce
once--nothing--induced again 2 weeks
later--fetal distress--c-section.
So I only went into labor with my
first--almost 2 weeks late--the other two
at least 2 weeks late. Last son--i
dont know how late--but induced 2
different times--and 1 year with no
period. I think he was closer to 3
weeks late--by my recollection of it.
Lsipes--i believe she was saying if they
induce--and she fails to go into
labor--they have to section her.
This girl I go to school with (for
pregnant and parenting girls) she just had
her baby on the 19th...And she just came
on today to tell me how it went. She was
overdue by 4 days and she went into the
hospital and they induced her (i think
they used the gelpack) and it worked .A
.L.O.T faster then they had planned...She
dilated 5-10 cm in 30 mins. She pushed
about 6 times she said and her baby was
out! Haha they told her they were going
to take the pack out and then give her an
epidural, and she was mad that she
couldn't have one after, haha. Oh well.
Hopefully if you are it will go as easy as
that! Good luck!

Yes that is what I was saying, but I know
labor is different for every woman..I hate
it that I have no idea what I am in for.
I would really like to go into labor on my
own and be in pain and get to the hospital
and have everything progress with pain
medication then to go into the hospital
feeling fine and then having to deal with
the thought of when is the pain going to
start am I dialating anymore, is
everything going ok..And blah blah just
more worrying that I really hoped that I
would not have to do. I pray that it
works on me fast and that I am not in
labor for 24+ hours. I am just so scared.
First baby and also my first time ever
having to stay over night in a
hospital..None of this is my
bag..Lol..Thanks again to all those who
have replied..=) tiffany
