Do I Take Aspiring for the Rest of My Life after I Experienc Posted: 02-22-06 15:56pm
I had a mild TIA three months ago. I have
completely changed my diet-no caffeine and
plenty of fruit. I had blood work done and
came back great and my blood pressure is
98/59 since I have started walking.
I currently take 81mg of aspirin a day.
How long should I continue to take
aspirin. I am 32 and would it be wise to
continue for the rest of my life?
Thank you

If you’ve tested positive for TIA, you
should take aspirin for the rest of your
life. That won’t be a problem for you
except if you have gastritis or a peptic
ulcer. If you become pregnant, experts
advise against taking aspirin in the third
trimester of pregnancy.
