My 21 year old, tall, very slim daughter
has had numerous digestive problems for
years - extreme lactose intolerance, ibs -
and was just diagnosed with a hiatal
hernia and acid reflux. She has been
experiencing "early satiety", slight
nausea, feeling full very quickly and food
generally not sounding good to her. She
also complains of excessive belching. We
thought the hiatal hernia and reflux
explained these symptoms, but her pcp
ordered an upper right quadrant ultrasound
to check her gallbladder. We just found
out it was "abnormal" - no obvious
gallstones, however. We have no other
details, and she will now have some more
blood work and a ct scan next week. I
tend to worry excessively, and don't like
to hear the word "abnormal" with regard to
tests. What can an abnormal gallbladder
mean? Should I be really worried (my
mind runs to rare cancers, etc.) any and
all input will be welcomed.
