Mitral Valve Prolapse And Marijuana? Posted: 02-23-06 16:21pm
Hey guys,
i was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse
a few weeks ago after having heart
palpitations and some chest pain. I told
them i've had the chest pain/discomfort
off and on for about a year, but nothing
serious. They just said it was most
likely hereditary and I should be ok.
My question is this. My first year of
college, I smoked quite a bit of
marijuana. I started smoking every now
and then, then I smoked more often during
the summer. After a while, I got tired
of it and stopped. I did it once in a
while and as of now, I haven't done it in
about two months. I was just wondering
if the marijuana could have caused the
prolapse, and if smoking marijuana now
would effect it.
I know marijuana isn't the best thing for
your major organs and I know you're
healthier when you don't use it. I'm
just wondering if I were to ever smoke
again, what would the effect be?
Thanks,

I Wouldn't Think So... Posted: 03-23-06 12:35pm
I'm not a doctor...But I wouldn't think
its the cause of your prolapse. More
genetic.
