I Wish I Knew How to Rupture My Own Membranes!

...Cause i'd do it!!! Silly baby is .N.E.V.E.R going to come out!! I've been trying to be really active (today I went for 2 walks/runs in the snow with my dog and mom), played with my nipples, taken hot baths, eaten spicey foods, eaten pineapple...Gah! I am so of waiting ahaha...I am the most impatient person and I know after like a week (or less) I will be like "why didn't I enjoy my last weeks??" haha but I just want to see her already! And i'm so frusterated with being dilated for almost a month, and nothing! Plus my hips and pelvic bone is sooo sore, it's retarded to walk or move (which is now even worse after my long walk/run today haha).

And my stupid doctor wont even check me each visit because she doesn't see the point and she thinks it will increase infection risk. Grrr makes me mad, I .W.A.N.T to be checked!

Anyways thanks for listening to my rant haha.

On saturday I went to the hospital because I was having regular contractions, but they sent me home because they were not strong enough. At the hospital I was still 1-2 cm dilated, and 70-80% effaced. I'm still getting contractions but they are not any stronger and they're not regular anymore :( I haven't talked to my doctor about inducing (i have an appointment tomorrow), but I know she wont cause she wont even check me, and I am only 38 weeks (39 on friday). The nurse at the hospital was pretty sure i'd be back in the next day or two...But nothing so far...Hopefully soon! My moms friend is .S.U.R.E I am going to have my water break anytime now because today all day i've really been able to feel the babies head. Haha I can only hope! Water breaking is a ticket to inducement if the contractions are not good! Lol

It does not sound like it will be much longer now, I understand what you are going thru, the waiting is hell but soon it will be over, just keep talking to her.

Kimmeh, did I read in another post that you had trouble with lots of uti's? If so, did they resolve themselves. I posted on a site that you did about protein in my urine.....It went awayfor awhile but was back yesterday at my appointment.....Bummer. My blood pressure is still normal though and no swelling.
Hope you go soon!

I had a bladder infection I think once, and had antibiotics for it. I'm sorry your protien came back, what are the levels like? I haven't heard anymore on mine, so I am taking it went away...I have a doctors appointment today at 3:45 I can ask for you, if you like.

Didn't you have protein in your urine before though??? I thought you did for some reason. Am I confusing you with someone else? I had 1+ for 3 visits and then I started to do clean catches and it went away for 3 visits and then it was trace yesterday. I know my doctors office considers trace an insignificant reading, but I did a clean catch and was drinking a lot of water, so it still concerns me. I am 34 weeks and just want this over with. The only reason I know it was trace is because I saw it in the chart. No one even mentioned it to me.
Did you have this problem?

I did have protien in my urin before, and it was like you it didn't seem to concern the doctors too much, I guess getting protien is normal in pregnant women, it's just needed to be watched because it is also common in preeclampsia. If your blood pressure is normal then they are not going to worry about it. But with my protien they stopped mentioning it after a couple visits...So I am guessing it went away.

So you had it on more than one visit also? About how far along were you? Do you know what it was? Trace, 1+, 2+........I know the important thing is the blood pressure, but I am a worrier and I don't like the idea that I have protein in my urine. It makes me feel like something more serious is wrong. Did you worry also? Thanks for your response. Is this your first baby? How old are you, if you don't mind me asking. This is my second child and I am 33.

I am 18. This is my first baby. I don't remember exactly what dates or weeks I was but it was in my early to mid 20 weeks range. I don't know what my levels were, I never asked because they didn't seem that worried and they never just told me, they just said they found some protien levels in my urine and that they just wanted to keep an eye on it. The first time they told me they found it I worried because they didn't explain anything to me and I came home and looked up what it could mean on the internet, but then I calmed down because my doctor said that it wasn't uncommon for pregnant women to get and it usually means nothing.

But it was there on more than one occasion??
Did you ever do 'clean catches'? I guess I should stop worrying so much.

Yes it was on more then one occasion and I have done "clean catches". I'm sure you have nothing to worry about, and your just upsetting yourself for no reason. Look at it this way, your pregnancy is almost over! Hehe you made it past all the major hurdles, so just enjoy the rest of your pregnancy :d

By the way, the reason I asked if you do clean catches is because they say vaginal secretions can cause false positives for protein, but since I did do a clean catch, I know that isn't the culprit........So I was curious if you did the clean catch proceedure as well...........In case you wondered why I asked about it.

You mentioned you did clean catches at the hospital....Have you had other problems that sent you there during your pregnancy?
How was your appointment?

I had lots of unexplaneable pain that was really bed, so they put me on bedrest even though the baby was fine. I guess it was from all my ligamints and stuff stretching.

Anyways my appointment was good. When she felt my belly she was really shocked that the baby was down so low, she said her head is right in my pubic bone now and with hearing how my hospital visit was (still 1-2 cm dilated, and 70-80% effaced) she said she'd put her money that i'll be going any day now...So I am just waiting. Me and mom went talking around the mall and I had spicey thai noodles and started to feel really crampy and hot and I was getting contractions a lot while we were walking that was slowing me down so we came home...But in the car ride things seemed to have calmed down (argh!).
