Q: Please Help Me With Some Advice

I am in about my sixth week and last week I spotted for about four days. I called my doc and asked him about the risks and he said not to worry about it unless I began to bleed as heavy or heavier than my actual period. Now i'm not bleeding at all, except for an occasional spot here and there, and I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else before. I also cramped during the spotting but the doc said that it was because i'm beginning to stretch. My next doc's visit is in a week and I am terrified that I will find out that I had had a miscarriage. Sad please give me some advice.
Good luck to all of you in your pregnancies and pray for me!

I've had 2 premature deliveries and a miscarriage, so I am sort of an expert when it comes to "help, I think something is wrong with my pregnancy..." I usually spot early in my pregnancy, and everytime, I am on the phone to the doctor, and am never appeased until I have seen that all is fine on an ultrasound. When you have a miscarriage, normally there is heavy, heavy bleeding, maybe even clots of tissue, and is normally accompanied by severe cramping and pains. If you have not experienced this, your doctor is probably right in saying not to worry. As your uterus grows, you do tend to "stretch" which may cause slight spotting. If it becomes heavy bleeding, then I would become very concerned. If possible, ask your doctor if you can have an in-office ultrasound. It only takes a minute, and to see a tiny flickering heartbeat on the screen makes it all worth it. Goodluck, and keep us posted!
