Baby Dylan Jacob - Now With Pics! Posted: 02-26-06 12:38pm
Hey everyone, I know I havent been here
very long, or been very active, but I
thought I would share the ...Surprise...
Birth of my son.
Dylan jacob was born at 9:03pm on the 23rd
february... Weighing in at a massive 2lb
4oz and exactly 15 inches long, twelve
weeks early.
Dil is doing well, things have been
frantic up until now, I was released
earlier today, but he will be in there for
quite a bit longer. He's a strong guy
and he is doing well, his apgar scores
were 7-8-9.
Today was a big day for him. He got
promoted from the nicu (neonatal intensive
care unit) to the scbu (special care baby
unit) and has been extubated for the first
time since his birth. He still has many
wires and tubes but he will lose them in
the next month or so. I also held him
for the first time.
I do have some pics - but I cannot figure
out how to post them. If anyone knows
could they tell me or if I sent them to
you could you stick them up?
Thanks - carrie and dylan.

dil asleep in my arms, holding my dad's
pinkie.
dil minus all the big tubes - you could
hardly see him before.
this is the polaroid which has had a (lol)
rougher time than me and dil have - it got
taken, given to someone else, got wet,
dried and given back to me. First ever
pic of dil before he was even intubated.
dil's grandma dressing him for the first
time, everyone argues over who get to
change him this time.
close up in incubator
dylan asleep.

Awww, what a sweetie....And what a
trooper, seems like he's doing really
good, especially for being premature. I
hope he gets strong real soon so he can go
home with you, it looks like he's very
loved....Everyone fighting over who gets
to care for him. Congrats!

Dil took a step back today, as they said
would happen, gave us a fright for our
lives when machines started beeping all
around and his lips started turning blue.
He's back on the vent but hopefully only
until tomorrow. I came home to eat and
see my grandma later i'm going back to the
hospital, there are visiting hours when I
can see him.
No lasting effects they dont think, he's
still responsive etc. Which is really
really good news.
