Seizure Posted: 02-27-06 07:33am
My friend had two seizures last year, but
he didn't describe them to the doctor as
seizures as he didn't know what they were,
he had thought that he'd passed out, they
put it down to tiredness. I witnessed
his third one yesterday and I am quite
worried for him. He came into the room
where I was sat and leaned over, then he
flew backwards to opposite way onto the
floor, arching his back and rolling his
eyes making funny noises, as though he
wasn't breathing. It only lasted a
minite of so, I was tilting his head back
so that he didn't choke on his tongue. I
was just about to call an ambulance when
he looked at me and seemed okay. He'd
broken a sweat and had no recollection of
the siezure, I wanted to call the
ambulence still but he insisted that he
was okay. Is there any chance that you
can advise what this may be, or what I can
do???? I've told him that he has to see
a doctor, but I think that he's too
scared.

Seizures can be very dangerous for many
reasons just on their own (the person can
hurt themselves), and can be signs of
serious illness. Your friend might be
scared to go to the doctor, but it can
only improve the situation, and it may
even put his mind at ease (if it turns out
to be less serious than it *could* be).
Your friend should go to the doctor sooner
rather than later.
