New Changes to Cycle....help! Posted: 02-27-06 12:34pm
I am not starting month 4 of ttc. In
nov, I was 30 days. In december 30 days,
january 31 days and now february was 28
days. Should I consider this having
irregular periods? Should I be
concerned? I had cramps for about four
days before af in both december and
january, but only a few hours before this
weekend. I stopped bc in september.
Has anyone else been all over the board
like this more than six months after
stopping bc? I am not sure if I should
be concerned and go see my doctor or what.
I have been taking a very laid back
approach the last two months, so I don't
think stress is a factor. I know that
going off bc can mess things up for some
time, but it seems weird that I had two
normal months and now things are going
haywire. Please, anyone who has been
through something like this post a reply.

Compared to a lot of people, those are
fairly regular cycles. I just finished
my first cycle off and it was 44 days.
Your ovulation should only be a couple of
days different with cycles like yours. I
wouldn't be concerned at all with that.
Do you use opks?

I have used the sticks(opkts). I used
them for two months. I had a real hard
time telling when the line went from faint
to dark so I gave up on them. It changed
so gradual over the course of four days.
The good news I guess is that according to
the tests, I am ovulating. I really
didn't need to tell exactly when I was
ovulating as we are pretty regular in the
trying thing, lol. Just thought that a
little extra knowledge of when I was the
most fertile couldn't hurt. The thing
that had/has me concerned about my cycle
length is that I am always 30 days on the
dot. Almost down to the hour. I am not
sure what is making it change the last two
months. I know this isn't going to be
quick. Trying is fun and easy, lol, but
the waiting isn't so much. Just wanted
to see if anyone else had started going
long or short after a few months of
regular cycles. How many days long or
short are too many? When some women post
that they do not have regular cycles, they
are talking about more than a few days off
I take it. Thanks so much for the imput.
I appreciate it.

Coming off of hormonal birth control can
really mess up your cycles. It is very
common and something most doctors don't
tell you about. I have heard that it can
take from 6-9 months to get back to your
normal cycle. When I got off of bcps in
2000 to try for our first child, it took
me over a year to have a cycle on my own.
I had to have meds from the doctor. I
hope you get a + result this month. We
are only on our second month of trying and
I am already anxious. Everyone says just
relax and it will happen but that is a lot
easier said than done.
