Well I am 29 weeks and so far before yesterday the baby has moved non-stop. Now for the past 48 hours I felt the baby move one or two times... Whats going on??!?!?! Is this normal?

No not really... Have you tried drinking some cold water or juice and laying down for an hour and counting baby movements? If you do it and only feel a couple or nothing call your doctor right away.

Good luck!

Well, at 29 weeks I don't think that's normal. However I am not sure....If it were me i'd call the doctor and see what he says. I know when you get around 37/38 weeks the movement slows a bit due to lack of space....But at 29 weeks I think they are supposed to move quite a bit. Like I said i'm really not sure, but i'd call just to see. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck and I hope everything is ok!

I am pretty small though, so maybe hes already starting to get crowded in there... I don't know. But when I lay on my sides he kicks the side i'm laying on so I know he still alive in there.. I will still call my doctor tomorrow morning just to see if everythings okay. If I don't get some reassurance then i'll end up freaking myself out.. Thanks for all your help..

Hi i'm also pretty small but my little one moves about in routine like when im lying down or during nights. Sometimes we don't notice the babies movement because we're so preoccupied with what we're doing. My midwife said that the least movement you could feel per day should be 10 if it goes lower than that within 24 hours its best to ring your doctor just to be safe. Take care

Sometimes you just don't notice the movements, that happened to me a few times and they'd hook me up and say "didn't u feel that?" and I was like ummmm, no. Lol

we got a chart from 28weeks on to chart movements and if by 6pm we had felt less than 10 movements we were advised to have a coke and lie on our left side for 1/2 hour and then track the movements.

Well I laid on my back last night and I felt him move quite a bit, then I turned on my left side and he was kicking me in the sides all night. I guess I really only feel him while i'm laying down. I swear he was kicking more about a week ago though. Who knows?!? Thanks for your help girls!!

Even though you feel him moving in there and know he's "still alive"... Lack of movement could be a sign of fetal distress. If you're feeling him move frequently when lying down, though that's a good sign.
When you're up and moving around, the movement helps lull the baby to sleep. When you're just lying there still, they tend to wake. It sucks for us, because it's when *we're* trying to sleep, but it's the truth!!
Isn't the general rule of thumb 15 movements per day? Anything less call the doc immediately? I can't remember. I could've completely pulled that figure out of my you-know-what, but really. If I barely felt the baby move in 48 hours my arse would be in the er! Lol it's best to actually concentrate on it. Like someone else said, sometimes you just don't notice it because you've kind of gotten used to it. But if you start to think he isn't moving enough, stop what you're doing and lay down and count. Just to be save.
