32 Week Checkup
Posted: 03-01-06 10:55am

I went to the Dr. On monday and had a horrible time!!!

My weight is now 184 and i'm at a high risk for pre- eclampsia (my blood pressure is normal, almost textbook, and i'm not spilling any proteins) so i'm good on that level...He is just worried about me swelling. I've gained 52 lbs. Since becoming preggy and it wears me out every day.

When I got there I knew I was gonna have to get my .Rogam shot (cuz my blood type is negative) but I forgot all about my glucose screening!!!! .God did that suck!! The glucose drink that they gave me wasn't even cold! I had to chug it hot!! Then to top it all off they didn't tell me to fast so I hope my test results don't come back jacked up!! Cuz i'm not letting them poke me again!!

Anyways...I make 32 weeks this friday and I don't know if I can handle all of this weight!!! It's not the weight really that's bothering me..It's my huuuuuge belly! When the Dr. Saw it he was like woaah...You gotta big baby in there!!!

My next ultrasound isn't until 38 weeks so imma have to wait on that!! I really want to see her again!!!!

I had to get that rogam shot too, not fun! For the glucose test they had me eat, then an hour later drink that nasty gunk then come in right away for the test. They certainly should have told you what you had to do! Just like my doctor trying to give me 2 rogam shots!! They gave me a flu shot at my 27 week appointment, then had me come in at 28 weeks just for the rogam shot. Well next time I went in they had it all out and ready to give me another one. I was like "i already had that" and they still didn't believe me so I dug that card out they give you and showed the nurse. Phew! Sometimes the doctors/nurses assume we know everything we're supposed to do, because they deal with it everyday and must think everyone knows!
I hope your glucose test comes back with good numbers so you don't have to get poked again. Maybe you've gained the majority of the weight already and you won't gain much now. Good luck

I don't gain anymore weight!! I know I will but after seeing the scale, my appetite has decreased. What I need to do is purchase a scale to give me that reality check everyday...Not just once a month.

I start my "every 2 weeks" appointments...So I go back in 2 weeks and I know i'll have gained more weight...

Another thing...My Dr. Said that I could take .Zantac 150 for my intense heartburn!!! I was sooooo happy when he told me!! My Dr. Is a young man and always has these jokes....I told him I had intenese heartburn and he was like "good"....And noooo it's not! I also got sick again and he told me to take the robitussin and the benadryll together to help me sleep and to break up the congestion in my chest..

I asked my Dr. About the flu shot and he told me that as long as I dont have asthma (sp?) that my lungs could fight it and it was not neccessary! So I was totally excited about that!!! I asked him in my 3rd month though and have gotten 2 chest colds since then!!

I don't have too much longer to go and I can't wait!!!

Oh, I wish I would have knew about zantac a month ago!!! I've been living on tums. This past week my heartburn has been soooooooo bad. I've only got a week until my due date. So hopefully this lil girl will soon drop and maybe that will help my heartburn.
I wonder if you don't have gestational diabetes....Would that cause weight gain? I know my cousin had .G.D when she was pregnant and I beleive she gained more weight than she thought she should have. Just a guess, but maybe that could be it. Not trying to scare you at all tho. She had zero complications, a lot of people get .G.D
so far i've gained 24lbs. And hopefully I won't gain any more and she'll be born soon! I swear my belly alone weighs 24lbs!!
Time goes by a little faster once you get to 2 week appointments. It did for me anyways, just because I dreaded going! I really dread going cuz it hurts when they check ya! I don't have another appointment until next friday (2 days after my due date) lets hope I don't have to go.
Hope all goes well for you. Enjoy your zantac too!!! :)

how far along are you. I've gained 22 pounds and i'm at 27 weeks. My doc says it's okay bcos I was considered underweight before (at 5'2 114 lbs.). I'm struggling with the weight. It seems like my feet and legs are always sore and I get tired very easily. My doc thinks that another 18 lbs would be good for me. I think she's lost her mind  I want my blue m&m to be healthy but I darn sure don't want to gain another 18 lbs.

Tigre- i'm 39 weeks today. I'm due march 8th. And i'm at the point where the baby is supposed to gain 1/2 lb or so a week.
I definately wasn't underweight when I started. So i'm pretty pleased with the amount i've gained. Hopefully it shouldn't be too hard to get rid of. I won't be going back to work until 3 months after the baby is born, and I feel it's easier for me to lose weight while I work because i'm always active. But I have a feeling it won't be *too* diffictult (my fingers are crossed) it shouldn't be too hard the 3 months i'm at home....She should have me on my toes at all times lol. But i'm not all too worried about it either, all I want is a healthy baby girl, that's the main thing. Do you know what your having? Or are you gonna have it be a surprise?

Babymjic I know how u feel I was 130 b4 macy and by the time I delivered I had gained 53 lbs! (damn cookies) it sucks being that big and trying to walk. And now with liam I didnt loose all of macy weight so I feel like a huge ball is in front of me and I run into everything with it. The scale makes me so nauseas. I went to one appt and the scale was obviously broken cuz it read 152 when the last time I was there it was 170 but no one listened to me I really wish it wouldnt have been broken!

Yea that's pretty bad.....Every where I go people are like oh my god you're about to pop aren't you?! And i'm like...Not really..I have 9 weeks to go!! And they all tell me they don't think i'm going to make it!!

My fiance didn't believe me that people were telling me this until 3 times in one day I got comments!!! I more than likely do have gestational diabeties due to my weight gain and hopefully I have a large baby but not tooooo large (which can happen with .G.D) my worst fear is to have to have a .C - section because my pelvis isn't large enough!! Then I really won't be able to lose the weight....And i'll have to get an epidural!!

Grrr....I'm going tonight to get my .Zantac because I can't eat cereal and milk w/out getting heartburn!!!!

I feel bad because now I don't want to eat cuz i'm scared i'll just keep gaining and gaining!! Hopefully at my Dr.S appt they can diagnose me with something to explain this weight gain!!!

A lot of pregnant women gain the weight early and some gain the weight later for some it is easy to take off the weight off after the birth of the baby and for others it is not. I hope that that none of you have .G.D, you should let them know that you ate prior to the test. The main thing is is that you enjoy your pregnancy's and rest as much as possible because after they are born, that is it and your men get soo jealous because they are not the little baby anymore! It is kind of funny in a way.

Good luck to all!

Lol....Hopefully the food I ate won't affect the test....I ate about an hour and a half prior to the test...And all I ate was a "to go" cup of pinapple and a fiji apple...Which is loaded w/ sugar!! Maybe it had digested by then because when I was drinking the drink my stomach was growling sooo loud everyone in the waiting room was looking!!

My grandmother doesn't think she had .G.D...But i'm not sure if they tested for that in those days but she spit out 3 10lb + babies!!

I'm shooting for an 8lb'er....I'm not so sure about a 10lb'er!! Lol...But what ever .God gives me...I'll be fine with!!
