Has anyone ever heard of the doctor
separating the amniotic sac from the
cervix? I am 39 weeks and when I went
for my weekly appt, while he was checking
me, he told me that's what he was doing?
I asked why and the response I got was to
help me along. He said there was about a
50% chance that this would get my
contractions to start. And if it didn't
happen within 24 hours it didn't work.
(it's been 28 hours and nothing). I
didn't read anything about this in any
child education books, just wondering if
anyone has ever heard of this??? I
should have asked more questions, it
caught me totally off guard!

I'm not sure if it's the same thing or not
but when I went to my last Dr. Visit
which was just about 3-4 days before I was
due my Dr. Said that he was going to
strip my membranes to help me start
contracting. Within about 1-2 hours
after he did this I was beginning to
contract. Hope this helps.
