Should I Seek Help?
Posted: 03-01-06 19:25pm

Hi everyone. This may seem kind of stupid, but I really am in need of some support here. In the past year I have lost about 35 pounds. To do this, I restricted my calorie intake to between 1000-1200 calories a day. I also run about 3 miles everyday. This may not seem like a lot of weight to drop, but I was at a normal weight when I began to diet. I am now about 15 to 20 pounds underweight, and a lot of people have said all kinds of things to me about having an eating disorder. At first, I just would laugh and shrug it off, but now I am really starting to think they might be right. I am obsessed with food now, and check the calorie content on everything. It's not like I am looking for nutritional value in the food, its more like...I'll have a big mac for lunch and then not eat for the rest of the day. I have also noticed some health changes in regard to being underweight, but the thought of going back to a healthy weight terrifies me. I have gone through an incredible amount of stress in the past year and a half, and I have read that things like that can trigger an eating disorder...But I really just don't feel like I have one. I know that probably doesn't make much sense... It just seems like my life is totally out of control, and my weight is the one thing I can focus on. Does anyone have any input on this?

I think you should bring your calorie intake up little by little. If your intake is 1000 go to 1200,then to 1400 until you hit 2000.That is usualy the ideal calorie intake for the average person. You wont gain too much more weight but you will be back up to your norm and not be fat.I am a little obsessed with my weight too.I am 5'11" and I weigh 175lbs.I want to be down to at least 155 or 160.You just have to be careful and know your limits

the best thing for you to is to go see a doctor and the doctor will probably be the best person to get the info from. And the doc might send you to a nutritionist. I wouldnt try to seek help for that on here, it probably would be best to go see a doctor. I dont think that melissa girl is a doctor.
