Freaked Out Beyond Reconition... Posted: 08-13-03 01:36am
Ok... I'm going to be as blunt as
physically possible... My boyfriend and I
have been dating for over two years and we
just decided to take the step and start
sleeping together. Ok, maybe it wasn't
the most intelegant thing to do. The
point is, one of the few times we did...
The condom broke. Luckily, it was 5 days
after my period and he hadn't.... Yet.
And he wasn't inside of me when this
happened. Still, I have this inner voice
cursing me off for being so stupid. There
is no way I could be pregnant.... Right?
I'm really freaked out and I could use
some assurance if possible. If anyone
knows anything at all, I would really
appreciate any form of imformation out
there. Thanks.

I would suggest you go get yourself a
pregnancy test. If you aren't prepared
to have a baby you shouldn't be having
sex. You should also see your ob\gyn and
get on birth control. So, if you decide
to have sex again you will know you are
protected. And wont have to depend on the
guy to provide protection. Birth control
isn't 100% effective but it helps.

Most people that use the rythm method (not
that it is highly accurate) state that you
can't get pregnant 5 days after your
period. Infact if you are not into
protection (which isn't wise) those few
days are pretty much the only ones that
keep you safe. Generally conception
occurs 12-14 days after the first day of
your last period. Just relax......
Stress makes your period delay longer.
If you are concerned with getting
pregnant, I suggest checking into some
other alternatives to condoms. (he should
still wear one to double the protection
measures) the pill, depo provera shots,
and iud are some contraceptions you could
look into.
Good luck!

Thank You So Much... Posted: 08-13-03 21:32pm
Thanks. I really appreciate it. My
boyfriend and I decided to hold off on sex
till we are both ready. We are willing to
wait, because 18 is too young to have
these kind of panic attacks. Neither of
us want to screw up a 2 year relationship
over something that we should have waited
to do in the first place. It was really
childish, even though it was only twice.
But I guess it only takes one time to
screw up your life. I'm not going to
stress over it too much, but I am going to
take a test asap. Just to be on the safe
side. Thanks again.

I agree with pamlekeen get your self a
test and see what it comes up with. But
just to let everyone know a friend of
mine got pregnant while she was on the
birth control needle, so if your not
prepared to take care of a little on don't
do the dirty deed.
