What health problems do you have that your
doctors blame on your stress, anxiety,
and/or panic attacks?

Hey there drpepper:
i am a 20 year old healthy female. I
have always been athletic and active.
About september of last year, I had a
weird heart beat one night. It felt like
my heart skipped a beat or stopped for a
second and then did a really hard forceful
beat. It felt aweful!!! I was so
scared, I thought something was wrong with
my heart. For the next week I was
extremely stressed out about it. I
looked on the internet about heart
problems, etc. (bad idea) and ended up
having a panic attack over it because I
got so worked up one day about a week
later. I was rushed to the e.R. And
they performed all of the heart tests etc.
Nothing was wrong they said and blamed
it on anxiety and stress. I still get
them to this day. Now they blame my
headaches on it as well. I didn't trust
them at first because I thought that they
might be missing something... But since
then I have realised that I am still
perfectly fine... I'm not dying or
anything... And I am starting to get my
anxiety under control. When all of this
started happening... I was under a great
deal of stress even though I didn't
realize it... I got married, went on a
honeymoon, moved, bought a house, got a
new job all in about a 2 week time span.
I thought it was so fun... But now I
realize that those big life changes no
matter how fun they are, are still
stressful. All that health worry caused
my anxiety. So I am starting to get back
to normal.
Do you have weird or scary symptoms that
you need to talk about or anything? I'm
sure there are many of us in here that can
relate to you!! Let me know... Sorry
this was so long!! :)

My doctors have blamed all of the
following on anxiety/stress: headaches,
heart palpitations, numbness, dizziness,
leg pain, back and shoulder pain.

I get all the symptoms that you have
listed - I just try really hard not to put
the 'what if's" with them and they seem to
go away.
