I Think I Have a Tumor, Cyst, Or An Aneurysm For 2 Year Now!
Posted: 03-03-06 00:57am

I just turned 20 and I weigh 130lb's. I have had kind of high blood pressure but not serious enough that I needed medicine. I think I have a good chance of having something life threatening for some years now. I've neglected to seek any medical treatments or diagnosis. The reason being is because I am scared of the notion of brain surgery.

I noticed a small lump on the front right side of my skull some years back not very big in size. It seems to be getting bigger every 6 months. Headaches aren't that often but when they do come my neck stiffens and I can feel the headache where the lump is. The headaches don't so much as feel like migraines or headaches, but constant pressure. I think I should get an mri soon because right now my headache is bad. What do you think it might be?

Hello! I am sorry to hear that... I hope that it's not too serious. I would go to a Dr. You have the right to turn down medical treatment right? Atleast find out what it is, and then it's your choice. I sure hope that you find out what it is soon. Then you will have options.

I guess part of the reason why I don't seek medical attention is because I don't find this to be a serious issue. Sometimes I get headaches where this lump on my head resides and makes my worry but then it just goes away for several months. Then I forget about it. I have felt like sometimes confused in the brain. It's wierd. If I every do decide to get an mri scan or whatever scan they perform I will certainly post back if it's life threatening or not. I have a lot of stuff going on and all I need is medical bills for some surgery or something. Thanks for listening.

I sure hope that you plan on getting this looked at. I know to you it may not seem like a big deal, and hey maybe it's not, but I hope that you atleast go to the doctors honey and get it checked out. I am sure that if it was a life or death situation. People will help you cover medical bills. Do you have family. Anyone that you can show for support? Do you have any asprin? That will help with the blood pressure.

I'm doing great! I havn't gotten my head checked and the reason is because I haven't had a headache in like 2 months. Right now I really couldn't possibly get checked primarily for the reason I am not covered medically, I just ran out but soon I hopefully should be. I'll let you know, but I feel great, it's only when I get those bad migrains is when I start to worry.

Lol, i'm probably wrong about this but it might be bad sinuses causing a specific lymph node to swell up and ache...But the reason i'm not so sure about this is cause I don't even know if there's a lymph node on the side of your head o_o...Oh well, it could still be sinuses probably

I looked up lymph nodes and found they are hundreds scatted thoughout the body as apart of our immune system.

"tiny vessels called lymph vessels carry germs, foreign particles, and unhealthy or malignant cells to the lymph nodes, where they are trapped. Active lymph nodes enlarge as they attempt to destroy the unwelcome material."

i'm curious if that is what I have. I mean I am extremely healthy and almost never get sick. I don't feel any indicator symptoms to suspect of disease, cance, tumor, anything. I don't ever smell anything burning indicating neuro connections burning. Swollen glands seems more probable since I used to scratch my head in the enlarged spot on my skull. I would do this because my head would itch when my cholingergic urticaria kicked in. That caused another thing: psoriasis. Now I have the hives under complete control under antihistamines. I appreciate you bringing lymph nodes to the table since I didn't read about it before.

My boyfriend had a lump on top of his head, they were giving him headaches. He went to the doctor, and they told him that it was a cycst. They could remove it, only if it starts to get bigger. Since yours is, just go to the doctor. That's all it might be. Im terrified of doctors. I always think somethings wrong with me. Then when I do get the courage to go, its nothing. So just go.

Well, i'm set up to see the doc this wednesday so I think this is the time I shall tell him/her that i've had this lump on my head for some years now. I have absolutely no idea what it will be but this starts for a whole journey for me. See, by avoiding it, nothing changes. But by facing it, it's a little scary. I feel it isn't life threatening because it hasn't posed as a huge concern. I am extremely healthy and young at 20 years old. My headaches have vanished from where the lump is for some months now but the lump seems to have protruded just a tad. I notice any change of size. This will most definitely shock my mom and brothers since this lump hasn't been talked about years ago. I hope it can be treated externally since I will never go brain/skull surgery, and I don't care if I had 10 years to live. Just the notion of that scares me. So... I'll follow up about what happens really soon.

Peace.

I went to see the doctor today and I showed him the lump on my head and how the headaches were in that spot and no where else on my head. I told him if he thought I should get an mri and he says if it enlarges let him know. Well, i'll just have to live with it for right now. I don't want this bump to get any worse but I guess if and when it comes life threatening then something will be done, so I was just letting you all know, if you cared any, which if you didn't it doesn't hurt my feelings :).
