I just wanted to see how you were doing. Did you talk to your doctor about your bleediing. Not to freak you out or anything but it sounds like what happened when I miscarried. It could be just a really heavy period though. I hope you are ok.

I didn't talk to my doc... I was just waiting to see if the bleeding would subside... I started my period 2 days ago and the clots are still coming out frequently.... My mom is a ob nurse and I asked her what she thought and she thought that maybe is was from discontinuing the nuva ring... I was on the nuva ring for about a year when I took it out... I had a light period the day after I removed it (feb 2) so she thought that maybe that heavy bleeding and clotting is from not having ovulated in so long.. What do you think?

I got off of nuvaring in january and my first regular period was heavier than normal and did have some clots in it. It wasn't nearly as heavy as yours though. It could just be a side effect. Everyone reacts differently. If your mom is a nurse, i'm sure she knows what she is talking about.

Everything is ok now I think. The bleeding has lessened a bit and the clots have slowed down. But i'm nervous..... My husband and I have never tried for a baby before and I have always been on birth control (since I was only 16 b/c of pcos and insulin resistance) but my doc said it's ok to try for a baby now b/c the pcos and the insulin resistance are reversing themselves. The doc said I would be ok to ttc as long as I watched my starches (i started atkins to do this) and to keep taking my metformin ( I take 1,000 mg a day). But i'm still nervous b/c I see so many ladies an here that have been ttc for so long... I'm just wondering.... I'm only 20, does age have any effect on ttc? How old are the ladies who are having so much trouble?

I think most of the ages vary. I know when you have pcos it can be more difficult but I have heard of many getting pregnant with the help of metformin. Pregnancy doesn't always happen right away. It usually takes a couple of months. The timing has to be just right. Age doesn't start affecting fertility until mid to late 30s. I am 31. We had trouble getting pregnant with our first when I was 27 but that was due to side effects from the birth contol I was on. This time around I am hoping it will be better. I am glad to hear that your bleeding has slowed down.

Megum's1211, I wiil remaain positive for you. How far along are you, I forgot, which is not unusual or are you ttc.
I dddo not feel that age has a lot to do with it. I haave seen young and old sail right thru pregnancy, no problem in getting pregnant while others try and try stressing themselves out over getting pregnant. I know when I quit trying things started happening.
The best to you!

Sandyallen: I just started ttc. I discontinued the nuva ring feb 2. And I am having my first "real" period since stopping the birth control. I know that sounds kinda odd..... Since i'm asking so many questions about difficulties of ttc... But I guess you could say that i'm just trying not to get my hopes up and i'm getting as much info as I can about infertility so if I dont conceive soon, i'll know what things to be concerned about... I'm supposed to ovulate on the 15th of this month, but i've heard alot on here about not ovualting right away after being on the pill... My mom is a ob nurse and she seems to think that my cycles will be ok since I bled for a few days when I took the ring out, and exactly 28 days later, I started a "real" period with cramps, and clotting... The whole 9 yards.... She said that "yes you can have a 'period' without ovulating, but the bleeding is less harsh and it is usually very short and rather light." so she seems to think that b/c i'm having such a heavy period right now, then my estrogen and progestrone levels are seemingly normal and that I should ovulate as scheduled..... What do you all think?

It sounds like your body is getting itself back to normal fairly quickly. You are lucky. It must be nice to have a mother who is a nurse. She will be able to answer a lot of your questions. Keep us posted.
